If Hammok were a company, imagine it as your mobile 'Travel Experience Enhancer.' Choose your destination, add safety measures, and budget preferences, customize your itinerary, and you're set to embark on a secure post-pandemic adventure.
Defining the Problem:
During this project I envisioned a travel app that transforms trip planning into a fast, enjoyable, and seamless experience. I asked myself, ‘how might I promote financial wellbeing and empower the user to feel confident in traveling post-pandemic?' My focus was on leveraging real-time expense tracking and emphasizing efficient and safe planning tools. Designing this app was a thrilling and rewarding challenge.
Travel Planning:
Imagine opening your app store, choosing a travel app, then worrying about your budget, the cleanliness of your destination, and being overwhelmed by the number of resources available. It's like scrolling through a feed that fills you with decision paralysis, complicating your planning process.
Well, that's already the battle for users trying to simplify their travel planning and enhance their post-pandemic trips. I opted to shocase (1) a seamless user onboarding either by quickly signing up or diving right into free exploration. (2) Banking integration and (3) preference setting offers a glimpse of how their customized travel itineraries would look on their mobile screens. Making the process effortless and visually engaging is key.
Rating Needs:
Everyone has different interests and priorities when it comes to travel. By rating your needs, the app can tailor the itinerary to match your preferences, ensuring the destinations, activities, and accommodations align with your needs.
“PREFERRED” SCREENS:
Stick to preferred arrangements for a consistent, comfortable experience to reduce unpleasant surprises and ensure predictability in travel. Some users may have loyalty program benefits to gain points as well.
CHOICE & FLEXIBILITY:
Presenting three itinerary options allows for a sense of choice and flexibility. Each option caters to your preferences and interests. The plans are built both based on their needs and references from previous travelers.
TRIP DETAILS:
Upon clicking “View” on the "Options" screen, you gain access to detailed information about the custom-built plans. Review the details related to these plans, but the app empowers you with the flexibility to fine-tune the itineraries, making necessary adjustments to better align your needs.
